Red Day in Madeira: A Day of Solidarity and Sharing

At Keller Williams, every year we set aside a special day – the second Thursday of May – and close Market Centers worldwide, dedicating this precious day to giving back to society what it gives us so much. This day is known as Red Day. This year, on May 9th, here in Madeira, we embraced this initiative with enthusiasm and dedication, dividing our consultants into teams to work on various fronts.

Within our Market Center, we organized three teams, each with an important mission. One of them dedicated themselves to sorting and qualifying collected goods for delivery to the Mother’s Center, an institution so important to our community that it was chosen as this year’s entity for our Red Day. Another team was responsible for setting up the space for our lunch gathering, while a third team took on the task of preparing a delicious pasta dish for approximately 140 people. And we can guarantee you: it was divine!

But our work did not limit itself to the walls of the Market Center. We reached out to the community, with one team performing interventions at the Mother’s Center headquarters, and another team renovating the rooms in the residences where some girls are institutionalized. It was an opportunity to make their space a little more like home, as we all deserve.

Before the well-deserved lunch, we also had time for an inspiring gathering, where we could learn in detail about the work done by the Mother’s Center and the crucial support they provide to mothers and their families. It was a moment of learning and awareness that filled us with gratitude for what we have and a desire to continue contributing to a better world.

In this year when KW celebrates 10 years of existence in Portugal, the Classical Orchestra also celebrates its 60 years of existence, making it the perfect synergy and the ideal reason to join forces and hold a spectacular solidarity event. Therefore, this memorable day ended in style, as we were all treated to an AMAZING concert by the Madeira Classical Orchestra, where the value raised from ticket sales was fully donated to the Mother’s Center. And we managed to raise €12,940!

We leave you with a video of the final part of this concert, as a reminder of this incredible day and as a reminder of the power of unity and solidarity. Red Day in the KW Area Madeira was much more than an event; it was a demonstration of our commitment to building a fairer and more supportive world. We look forward to next year’s Red Day, to continue making a difference in the lives of those around us.
